Circuit Paul Ricard in France hosted the latest two rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe over the weekend, 4th/5th June, where team-mates Kerong Li and Jean-Francois Brunot experienced a challenging outing in the No.87 Leipert Motorsport entry.
In race one on Saturday, from 24th overall on the 37-car grid and ninth in Pro-Am, things started well with Brunot launching superbly and gaining eight places on the opening lap. Ending the first stint in the outright top 15, hopes for a strong result were dashed early in Li’s stint when fuel issues meant the Lamborghini Huracan slipped down the order to finish eighth in Pro-Am, 24th overall.
On Sunday morning, Li was due to begin the second contest from eighth in class and 31st overall but due to a technicality actually had to start the race from pitlane. He progressed well through the first stint, Brunot then took over the car at the mid-race pit-stop. Battling hard, he took the chequered flag in 23rd place overall and ninth in class.
