Just three rounds into the Hankook 24H Series season, Kerong Li and Jean Francois-Brunot have already become race winners with the duo delivering a fantastic performance during their first European outing of the campaign – the Hankook 12H Mugello in Italy.
Taking the GTX class victory on their first appearance with HRT Performance in the squad’s No.728 Porsche 992, the team-mates starred during the two-part contest and put together a consistent and competitive showing throughout.
Concluding the first five and a half hours of action on Saturday a healthy second in class, the duo took the GTX lead during hour two of Sunday’s six and a half hour portion of racing and led from that point forward to claim the richly deserved spoils and their maiden victory together.
Following on from a top five finish in January’s Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi with Leipert Motorsport’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Li and Brunot also performed impressively in the season-opening Hankook 24H Dubai where they finished eighth with Leipert.
Next on the 24H Series calendar is the Hankook 12H Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium over the weekend 23rd/24th April.
